Our famous “Pig Roast Wedding” at The Allan House with photographer, Ben Godkin, and coordinators, BZ Events, is currently being featured on the popular blog, ROCK ‘N ROLL BRIDE. Though they didn’t include our favorite picture (the bride singing to the pig head), it was great to see some new shots from that night. We’re thrilled to have been a part of this amazing wedding! Ben Godkin did a fabulous job capturing what I think was our most unique wedding to date… A true tribute to the pig and everything pork. Our menu for the day consisted of:

Appetizer
Truffle Popcorn

Dinner
Whole Pig Roast
Pig Ear Salad
Homemade Charcuterie (Pork Tenderloin Terrine, Pate, Smoked Kielbasa, and Head Cheese were the favorites!)
Seared Pork Belly with a Banyuls Vinegar Gastrique
Braised Kale with Tails and Trotters
Dr. Pepper Glazed Ham
Homemade Brats and Boudin Blanc
Green Chili Mac and Cheese
Pineapple Jicama Slaw
Summer Succotash
Black Bean and Goat Cheese Tamale with Ancho Paint (for the vegetarians)
Texas Toast

In addition to the unique menu, the couple had a rockin 80′s band, Radio Star, numerous specialty cocktails made by our bartenders such as Bacon Margaritas, and the two guests dressed as the characters from Dumb and Dumber. We just loved working with this couple and hope our paths cross again soon! Also, a big kudos to Cortney and her team from BZ Events for their work on the coordination!

Fall Supper Club Date Announced!

We are very excited to announce that our next Supper Club Event will take place on September 30th, 2009 at Caffe Medici on West Lynn Dr. The experts at Medici will be providing unique coffee drinks for each course that will be paired with elegant fall dishes prepared by our Executive Chef, Dan Stacy. Music will be provided by singer/songwriter and Austin newcomer, Katie Evans, whose newest CD, “A Passing Afternoon,” was just released.
